Week 5 Roundup

Phew!

A nice quiet week for once, or at least as quiet as they seem to get! Tuesday saw the return of intervals with some uphill and downhill reps led by our very own Coach Dan, perfect orienteering-specific training! This was followed up on Wednesday by Kate and co. cooking up a storm for pasta night, how could you possibly miss out on that? Thursday then saw the return of our orienteering training sessions, as our members took to the streets of Western Central to brush up their sprint tech skills.

A quiet week followed by a big weekend for some of our members in the sunny county of Dumfries and Galloway for the OMM. Storm Boleo wasn’t enough to stop some of our members, though it sadly was enough to lead to a scaled back day two. Adam and Bish brought the victory home for EUOC on the A course, with Finlay M and Finlay M (!?!) hot on their heels in third. Scarlett and her dad Chris also reigned supreme on the B course to out class a very strong field, what a weekend! A slightly drier Falkirk saw some competitive head-to-head racing in a mass start event to raise money for the GB squads. On the men’s course Frank outpaced his flatmate (???) Charlie to lead the EUOC men home in (5th), with some very strong performances from Isaac and Roger as well. Immy put her Swedish orienteering training to use to claim the win in the ladies, with Daisy in 4th and Emma in 7th.  Congratulations also to Fran and Audrey for some very strong performances on the green and orange respectively!

That’s all for week 5! If you have any questions, please feel free to pop them in the general chat, or if you are struggling at all, please feel free to reach out to me or our wellbeing officer Wozzle for some advice or just a chat. As per usual, if you also fancy some company for your run, ping a message on the general chat and there will be someone with similar plans.

See you round,
