Legend of the Week #8 – Issy Sunley

Our last Legend of the Week this year is our incoming publicity officer Issy🤩📚📱🕺!

Name: Issy Sunley
Course: Ecological and Environmental Science 3rd year
Where are you from: Deanscales, Cumbria
When/how did you start orienteering: My brother started doing it in primary school so I got dragged along. They came into school in year 4 and then we started doing WCOC events as the family enjoyed it.

Best achievement in orienteering: British Relays champion w14 and w18
Most memorable moment in orienteering: Fell on a path at British Long 2022 and sprained my ankle, sat down and cried for a minute and Megan Mitchell jumped over me. (and I still came third)
Biggest rival: Fiona Eades, we live together, and are always so close together in results.
Biggest idol: James Hammond because he is a really nice guy and he is so humble and really good.
What is your hot drink of choice for the interview: Flat White
Your most listened to song at the moment: Porchlight – Noah Kahan
Go to sweet treat: White chocolate creme eggs
Favourite artist at the moment: Gigi Perez
Favourite Edinburgh Bus Number: 35 because it is a nice change to get home going down the mile, nice and scenic.

Favourite thing about EUOC: Everyone is so keen to give advice, help you out and offer you support back.
New years resolutions and how are they going: I didn’t do any new years resolutions but I always stop eating food with added sugar for lent (apart from a well deserved creme egg after bucs medal)
Favourite karaoke song: Stacy’s Mom (bonus points when you replace it with Neil’s mum)
Confession of the week: When I run my arms hurt more than my legs
Unpopular opinion: I keep my creme eggs in the fridge
