Additional Information
For this event, our devious planner Dan has decided to use one-way barriers™ to make the courses extra tricky.
These one-way barriers will look like arrows drawn with the purple barrier symbol and denote that you are allowed to travel through it in the direction of the arrow but not through it in the opposing direction. You are allowed to run up to the barrier when approaching it from the opposing direction but not cross it.
This is explained in the pictures below where green is acceptable, red is not.
These barriers will not be marked on the ground, only on the map.
Barriers will be the same on the long and short courses (and consistent on both sides of the map on both courses). There will be no barriers on the novice course.
Still confused? Don’t worry, we will have a small ‘model map’ at the event where you can get a sense for this novelty before your race.
It goes without saying that a headtorch is required, shoes with good grip are recommended, and don’t forget your dibber.
EUOC have some spare dibbers, compasses & headtorches that you can borrow, just send us an email.
