Edinburgh Big Weekend 2027

Welcome back to Edinburgh for the biggest weekend of the year.  Expect lots of fun and fantastic racing around Edinburgh from the 22nd January to the 24th January 2027. Preliminary details below, Bulletin 1 coming before Xmas.

Friday 22nd January

FWTN Indoor O at Kings Buildings

We’re opening with an indoor O (or two) on Friday evening. Based out of the Kings Buildings campus it is super easy to get to, although I can’t promise it’ll be easy to get round!  I’ve been lost myself trying to find classes in these buildings… A great chance to loosen the legs and warm up the brain for the rest of the weekend.

Saturday 23rd January

City Sprints (UKUL 1 + SOUL 1) & Ceilidh

On Saturday, the competition heats up, with two quality sprint races on maps used for WOC 2024. We’ll be using bits of the town, old and new, that Big Weekend hasn’t seen for a while…  The day will form part of UKUL and SOUL, with the total time counting towards the results.

And in the evening, the ceilidh! With a fab live band, light refreshments (haggis included!) and plenty of dancing of course, it makes for a great evening with family and friends.

Sunday 24th January

Arthur’s Seat Classic (SoSOL 1)

And the crown jewel of the weekend, our annual Seat race, is back for another rendition on Sunday. It’s a unique area, with many small features, big routechoices and breathtaking views across the city for those who take the ‘high road’… The full range of courses will be available and it’s a good chance to start the SoSOL series strong.
